Demo 1.2 (+ Steam announcement)


ANNOUNCEMENT: The Sword Game is now being published by Fennonauts Publishing, this is a huge step towards the future of the game and a huge accomplishment. I am really excited for what's to come for The Sword Game. 


Demo 1.2 has been released and will be the version released on Steam, here are the changes:


* Introducing: Ranks! The sword game is now more competitive than ever with the addition of ranks, from C to A (C = most time taken, B = "good enough" A = fastest possible run)

* The human character has a new rig, making it simpler and easier to create custom animations

* The spherical projectile is now black-white-red

* New intro and slight main menu changes

* New fight animations in the last cutscene

* The camera now has a subtle shake when stomping

* The skip cutscene button on controllers has been remapped to the West button to avoid bugs and to make it a universal skip button for cutscenes

* New tutorial 1 music

* You are now unable to stop fast forwarding of a cutscene

* Fixed a bug where stomping would count enemies that were already killed by another weapon as killed, possibly bringing the "demons left" counter to negatives

* Fixed a bug where if you would reset the level while in pause menu, some of the text would stay on screen

* Falling off the map now automatically resets the level as opposed to giving you the death screen

* Fixed a bug where three of the demons would not be counted in the demon counter

* Fixed a bug where on the pause menu, there would be graphical artifacts with parts of the level flashing

* Fixed input icons stacking up when a gamepad is not in use

* Damage sound effect added + the screen flashes red when damage taken 

* Loading screen behavior changed

* There is now a mark directly underneath the player where it can stomp, the outside zone marking the area affected and the center marking the more precise landing position (NOTE: must look down for it to activate!)

* Fixed the stomping state issue where the player would be temporarily stuck in the stomping state shortly after using the jump pad

* New volume sliders in the main menu's new "Settings" tab, saving functionality implemented

* Guide level changed

* Controls and volume sliders now accessible through the pause menu

* Unity logo at startup removed

* Fixed an issue where the sword would be activated when releasing the trigger

* The pause menu is now dark themed

* Some colliders adjusted

* The pause menu is now dark themed

* Fixed a bug where if you pressed the west button on a controller, the level would reset instantly

* Coyote time implemented, allowing the player to jump for a brief moment after leaving a platform 

* Made the acceleration of the player a little smoother 

* Tutorial 1 and 2 redesigned and tutorial 3 adjusted for more linearity
